Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
On their way back to Voyager, Janeway and the Doctor are captured by Zet and Nar, two renegades from the Hierarchy. To keep Janeway alive, the Doctor must return to Voyager and steal its warp core for them. Using a holo-emitter to disguise himself, he impersonates Janeway, inventing a crisis to explain his strange orders. Meanwhile Janeway works quietly on Nar, the more uneasy of the two captors. Tuvok uncovers the deception, but the Doctor escapes with the warp core. He has hidden a coded message in a musical recording, which Seven deciphers, and Tuvok and Tom give chase. In the standoff, Nar turns against the reckless Zet and helps the Doctor. The warp core is recovered, but the Hierarchy's alterations destabilise the Doctor's program. In his confusion he blurts out a string of personal confessions to his crewmates, then has to live with them once B'Elanna repairs him.
- 01The Doctor sings an aria from Verdi's Rigoletto aboard the Delta Flyer, and later hides a coded message in “The Blue Danube”.
- 02Alexander Enberg makes his final appearance as Vorik.
- 03Zet and Nar belong to the Hierarchy, last seen in “Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy”.
