In 2404, ten years after Voyager reached Earth, Admiral Kathryn Janeway regrets what the 23-year journey cost, including the death of Seven of Nine and Tuvok's mental decline. She obtains time-travel technology from a Klingon and travels back to 2378 to meet her younger self. Bringing advanced technology, she urges Captain Janeway to use a nebula full of Borg activity, which hides a transwarp hub, to get home years earlier. The captain insists on destroying the hub too, to deny it to the Borg. The admiral boards the Borg Unicomplex, claiming to negotiate with the Queen, and releases a pathogen that cripples the Collective, destroying the hub and the Queen. Voyager races through a transwarp conduit pursued by a Borg sphere, destroys it from within, and emerges near Earth to be met by a Starfleet escort. As the ship heads home, B'Elanna gives birth to her daughter.
