Voyager encounters an old Klingon D7 warship. Its commander, Kohlar, explains that his people have been searching the Delta Quadrant for generations for the Kuvah'magh, a prophesied saviour. He becomes convinced that B'Elanna's unborn daughter is the one, and more than 200 Klingons transfer to Voyager. The hot-headed T'Greth doubts the claim and challenges Tom to a fight, which ends in an unexpected win for Tom. It emerges that T'Greth is suffering from an incurable disease, the nehret, and the Klingons' presence puts the crew in danger. T'Greth leads a takeover attempt, but the crew regains the ship. The Doctor develops a cure using stem cells from B'Elanna's unborn child, and the Klingons leave to settle on a habitable planet. Meanwhile, Harry fends off the attentions of a Klingon woman, Ch'Rega, who turns her interest to Neelix instead.
