Fair Haven is back, and the crew keep it running constantly. The strain on the programme causes glitches, and the villagers begin to notice that their visitors can do impossible things. Seamus and the others decide the crew are spirit folk, supernatural beings from Irish legend, and turn against them. Paris and Kim go in to repair the programme but are captured and questioned. The Doctor enters with his mobile emitter but is also detained, and the emitter is taken. Michael Sullivan, searching for Katie, activates it and is transported to the bridge, where Janeway tells him the truth: she captains a starship and Fair Haven is a place her crew visit to relax. Janeway then returns with Michael to calm the village and reassure the villagers. Torres repairs the programme, and the crew share a drink with their holographic friends before switching it off.
