While much of the crew enjoys shore leave, Seven and Tuvok are captured during a survey mission. Their captors force them into the world of Tsunkatse, a brutal and popular arena sport run by Penk. To win medical treatment for the injured Tuvok, Seven agrees to fight. Crew members watching a bout are shocked to see her in the ring against a Pendari champion. Held aboard Penk's ship, Seven is taught by a Hirogen prisoner and veteran fighter who sees that she must learn to survive. Her final match is to the death, against the Hirogen himself. Voyager tracks Penk's ship, and Janeway leads a rescue, knocking out the ship's signal generators. Seven and the Hirogen are beamed out before either has to kill. The Hirogen is returned to his people, saying he intends to look for his son.
- 01Dwayne Johnson's first dramatic acting role, part of a cross-promotion with UPN's wrestling programming. He was billed under his ring name, The Rock.
- 02Originally titled “Arena”, but renamed because the original series already had an episode with that title.
- 03With a Nielsen rating of 4.1, it was the highest-rated episode of season six.
