Voyager enters Krenim space and falls into a nightmare: a war fought with time itself, and a ship pushed far beyond its limits.
Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
A Krenim vessel wipes a Zahl colony out of existence with a weapon that alters time. Soon afterwards Voyager attempts a shortcut through Krenim territory that could save years. A temporal shockwave rewrites the region's history, erasing the Zahl and leaving the Krenim far more powerful, and Voyager is caught in a running battle that lasts for months. The ship is battered deck by deck, sickbay is lost, and Tuvok is blinded while saving Seven from a chroniton torpedo. Seven devises temporal shielding that protects the ship, but it draws the attention of Annorax, a Krenim scientist whose timeship erases whole civilisations from history in pursuit of a perfect timeline. His ship seizes Chakotay and Paris. With Voyager crippled and under attack, Janeway orders most of the crew to abandon ship, staying behind with a skeleton crew to fight on.
- 01Kurtwood Smith's third Star Trek role, after the Federation President in The Undiscovered Country and Thrax in DS9's “Things Past”.
- 02The story grew out of the future glimpsed in the season three episode “Before and After”.
- 03Brannon Braga loved the image of a battered Voyager. The idea was considered as a season-long arc before being told in two parts.
