Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Starling has raided Voyager's database and is holding the Doctor, whom he fits with a 29th-century mobile emitter so he can move freely outside the ship. Paris and Tuvok, stranded on the ground with Rain Robinson, keep her in the dark by posing as government agents. Chakotay and Torres try to snatch Starling with a shuttle but crash in the Arizona desert, where they are captured by an armed anti-government militia, until Tuvok and the newly mobile Doctor rescue them. Janeway takes Starling prisoner but cannot make him see the danger, and his henchman beams him back to Chronowerx. After Paris and Robinson chase a decoy truck through the city, Starling launches the Aeon, and Janeway destroys it with a photon torpedo before it can reach the future. A different Braxton then arrives from a new timeline and returns Voyager to the Delta Quadrant, refusing to take the crew home to Earth. The Doctor keeps the mobile emitter.
- 01The Doctor gains his mobile emitter here, giving him freedom beyond sickbay for the rest of the series.
- 02Rick Berman vetoed the idea of bringing Rain Robinson aboard Voyager, though he later said he regretted it.
- 03The militia subplot was cut down sharply from its planned size. It was inspired by real “Freemen” groups in Montana.
