A vintage Earth truck drifting in deep space leads Voyager to a planet holding a remarkable link to one of the great mysteries of the 1930s.

Voyager finds a 1936 pickup truck floating in space. Paris gets it running, and its AM radio picks up an SOS that leads the ship to a nearby planet. Atmospheric interference rules out the transporter, so Voyager lands on the surface. Beside a Lockheed Electra aircraft, the away team find a cave of cryostasis chambers holding people from 1937, among them the aviator Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan. Once revived, they learn that around 300 humans were abducted from Earth that year by the Briori and forced into slavery. The abductees' descendants eventually rose up against their captors and have since built a civilisation of 100,000 people. After a tense first encounter, they offer a home to anyone from Voyager who wishes to stay. Every member of the crew chooses to remain aboard, while Earhart and the others from 1937 decide to make the planet their home, and Voyager continues its journey.
