A Klingon sleeper ship from the days of war is about to wake up, and the special envoy sent to help is someone from Worf's past.

Starfleet sends a special emissary to the Enterprise: K'Ehleyr, half human and half Klingon, and a former lover of Worf. Her mission concerns the T'Ong, a Klingon cruiser launched more than 75 years ago whose crew has been in suspended animation ever since. When they wake, they will believe the Klingons are still at war with the Federation and attack the nearest targets. Old tensions between Worf and K'Ehleyr flare until a session in his holodeck combat programme ends with them spending the night together. Worf then insists, by Klingon custom, that they must marry, and K'Ehleyr refuses. When the T'Ong begins to wake ahead of schedule, the crew opts for a bluff rather than a battle. Worf and K'Ehleyr pose as the Klingon officers in command of the Enterprise and order Captain K'Temoc to stand down. K'Ehleyr then transfers to the T'Ong to help its crew adjust, parting from Worf on warmer terms.
