Hegemony, Part II

Continuing directly from “Hegemony”, the Enterprise plants a tracker on the Gorn ship holding La'An, Dr M'Benga, Ortegas, Sam Kirk and a group of human colonists. Starfleet wants the ship to stay in Federation space, but Admiral Robert April lets Pike follow. Scotty's Gorn transponder lets the Enterprise slip unseen into an uncharted binary star system, where the crew find the Gorn homeworld and a vast invasion fleet. Knowing the Gorn react to stellar activity, Pike's crew create an artificial coronal mass ejection that sends the Gorn into a long hibernation. Aboard the Gorn ship, the prisoners break free and send out transporter codes so the colonists can be beamed to safety. Ortegas is badly injured during the escape, and the Enterprise is heavily damaged. In sickbay, Spock and Chapel destroy the Gorn eggs inside Captain Batel using Una's augmented Illyrian blood, and Batel survives.
