Hegemony

Batel's ship, the USS Cayuga, is destroyed by the Gorn while resupplying the colony of Parnassus Beta. Chapel, aboard on her way to her fellowship, survives. Pike leads a covert landing party of Ortegas, Sam Kirk, M'Benga and La'An to find survivors. They meet a young engineer, Lt Montgomery Scott of the crashed USS Stardiver, and find Batel, who turns out to be infected with Gorn eggs. A Gorn jamming device blocks the transporters, so Spock and Chapel attach rockets to the Cayuga's wreckage, fighting a Gorn in zero gravity, and use it to destroy the jammer. Pike, Scott and Batel are beamed to safety, but M'Benga, La'An, Ortegas and Sam are taken aboard a Gorn ship. With more Gorn ships closing in and Starfleet ordering a withdrawal, Pike must decide whether to obey or go after his crew.
