Last Flight of the Protostar, Part I

Thanks to Wesley Crusher, the cadets at last reach the Protostar, only to find it grounded on the stormy planet Ysida. Chakotay has been marooned there for ten years. The ship's Hologram Janeway explains that losing his crew broke his spirit, and the disappearance of his first officer, Adreek, was the final blow. To survive he ejected the ship's antimatter and proto-core, leaving the Protostar limping along on emergency power. The cadets try everything to rally him, without success, until Dal goes missing in a storm and Chakotay springs into action to find him. After a narrow escape from giant eels, the search party discovers that Dal has found Adreek's body, along with the antimatter Adreek had gathered in a final attempt to repower the ship. Realising his friend's sacrifice was not wasted, Chakotay recovers his old resolve and agrees to get the Protostar flying again and help mend the time paradox.
