Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Dal, logging himself as captain, leads the Infinity towards the hidden planet where they believe Chakotay waits. To cut a 61-day journey, the crew dive into an abandoned Borg transwarp conduit, but a rogue Kazon drone intercepts them and forces them down on a hostile world. First Maje Ekthi demands the ship, or its weight in gold-pressed latinum, as tribute. Unable to pay, the crew accept his alternative: a race against his undefeated pilot. During the chaotic aerial contest they discover that Ekthi and his guards are androids, controlled by a rogue artificial intelligence obsessed with perfection, which had killed the trainees at what was once a Kazon pilot training centre. Zero sacrifices their containment suit to destroy the AI and free everyone, though Zero is left badly damaged and the crew vow to help. Aboard Voyager-A, time suddenly stops and ghostly tentacles reach for the holographic Gwyn, but fail to take her.
- 01James Mathis III voices Ekthi, the Kazon First Maje who forces the crew into the race.
- 02Dal opens a log as “Captain's log” before hastily correcting himself to a personal log.
- 03The episode includes a callback to the season 1 Borg episode “Let Sleeping Borg Lie”.
