Observer's Paradox

After the Infinity's unauthorised flight, Janeway and Starfleet investigate how the young crew altered the timeline, and the cadets are confined to quarters. Gwyn blames herself for the coming war on Solum and is troubled by visions of a spiral, while Murf paints a mural of the same shape. Slipping their supervision, the friends gather clues: the spiral is linked to Chakotay, and their mysterious benefactor has left a message with Murf that nobody can understand. Some suspect the entity is Chakotay himself. Admiral Jellico, citing the danger, orders the wormhole collapsed, and Janeway carries out the order. In Cetacean Ops, Rok helps Murf, in an aquatic form, talk with a humpback whale named Gillian, who translates the message: a plea to be found, plus a set of coordinates. Tuning her temporal armband to them, Gwyn has a vision in which the entity urges her to find it before others do, and the crew realise the spiral is a map.
