Gwyn is now split across time, part of her with her father Ilthuran in the past and part trapped in the Va'Lu'Rah chamber 52 years later, phasing in and out in great pain. Cryptic messages from an unknown sender lead Dal and Zero to her, with an urgent instruction to save her. As Gwyn is the only thing still tied to the original timeline, the crew must reach her across the decades. Janeway's team aboard Voyager-A sends help, including a lesson from science adviser Dr Erin Macdonald, and Dal at last studies the subject he has been avoiding. While the crew turn the battered Infinity into a makeshift time machine, Ilthuran comforts Gwyn. When their efforts fall short, the ship suddenly glows and transforms, apparently helped by an unseen benefactor, and carries everyone back to Voyager-A. The Doctor gives Gwyn a stabilising armband. Finally, Murf meets a shadowy figure on the holodeck who warns that someone is coming.

  2. 02The crew's plan to use the wormhole to power the Infinity's time jump is inspired by Worf's shuttle manoeuvre in TNG's “Parallels”.
  3. 03The phase discriminator used in the rescue is technology borrowed from TNG's “Timescape”.
