With the Queen's help, Agnes gets Picard, Tallinn and Rios into the gala, where Soong confronts Picard and warns security that he is dangerous. Agnes and the Queen create a distraction by cutting the lights and singing a jazz version of “Shadows of the Night”, and the rush of endorphins lets the Queen take full control of Agnes's body. Q, posing as Renée's therapist, feeds her insecurities by text, and she starts to flee the party. Picard finds her and persuades her to go ahead with the mission, talking about his mother, who also loved the stars and also struggled with her mental health. Soong sees them together and tries to run Renée down. Picard pushes her clear but is struck by the car and knocked unconscious. At home, Kore searches her father's research and learns she is the only survivor of many apparent clones. At Teresa's clinic, Tallinn decides to enter Picard's mind to help him wake.
- 01Agnes sings Pat Benatar's “Shadows of the Night”. Alison Pill's performance was released on the season's soundtrack album.
- 02The interior of the gala was filmed mainly at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
