In 2024 Los Angeles, Picard hunts for the mysterious Watcher with help from an old friend who has not met him yet, while Seven and Raffi race to find Rios.

Through Agnes's link with the Queen, Picard learns that the change to history will happen in three days, on 15 April 2024. He beams to the place she identified and finds a younger Guinan, who does not know him and, disillusioned with humanity, is preparing to leave Earth. Seven and Raffi search for Rios, who has been processed by immigration officers and put on a bus bound for a sanctuary district on the border. Agnes helps them track it by tricking the Queen into improving La Sirena's transporter. Once Picard gives his name and explains his search, Guinan leads him to a “Supervisor” who acts as a guardian angel for someone on Earth. The Supervisor resembles Laris but appears human, and she teleports away with Picard. Meanwhile Q approaches a woman working on the planned Europa space mission, and is startled to discover that he cannot change her destiny.

- 02Ito Aghayere, who plays the younger Guinan, revisited Whoopi Goldberg's episodes and studied her mannerisms for the role.
