Seven distracts the Magistrate long enough for the group to overpower and kill him and his guards. Under attack, the Borg Queen links herself to the ship's computers, destroys their pursuers and slingshots around the sun to open a wormhole to 2024. She tells Picard they must find someone called the Watcher, who knows what Q changed. The ship crash-lands near Chateau Picard in France, and the Queen draws all its power to keep herself alive. Elnor dies of his wounds, and an angry Raffi blames Picard before heading to Los Angeles with Seven and Rios. A faulty transport knocks Rios out, and he wakes in a clinic that quietly treats undocumented immigrants. Immigration officers raid it and arrest both Rios and his doctor, Teresa Ramirez. Against Picard's warnings, Agnes links her mind to the Queen and learns the Watcher's location without being assimilated, impressing the Queen.
- 01Director Lea Thompson, Lorraine in the Back to the Future films, directed this episode and the next.
- 02The ship travels back in time by slingshotting around the sun, the same method used in the original series episode “Tomorrow Is Yesterday”.
- 03The Markridge Industrial Tower that Raffi and Seven visit was filmed at the Wilshire Grand Center in Los Angeles.
