Using a Borg transwarp conduit, La Sirena reaches Soji's home world, Coppelius, ahead of the Romulan fleet, followed by Narek and by the Artifact under Seven's command. Giant orchids rise from the planet and drag all three ships down to the surface. Picard is injured, and after Jurati examines him he admits to the crew that he is dying. Reunited with Seven and Elnor, they reach the settlement where Dahj and Soji were made, home to a community of synths overseen by Altan Inigo Soong, son of Data's creator. One synth, Sutra, twin of an android killed years earlier by Rios's captain, uses a mind meld to see the vision Oh showed Jurati. She takes it as a message from powerful synthetic beings who will come to the aid of synthetic life if summoned. Sutra persuades Soong and the others to build a beacon to call them before the Romulans arrive. When Picard objects, he is confined to the house.

  1. 01Akiva Goldsman directed both parts of the finale as a single unit. He considered the split into two episodes almost arbitrary, done mainly to make a ten-episode season.
  2. 02Brent Spiner plays Altan Inigo Soong, son of Noonien Soong, whom Spiner also played in The Next Generation.
