The Impossible Box

Narek notices that Soji has the same dream every night and plans to use it to find where she was made. Aboard La Sirena, a guilt-ridden Jurati sleeps with Rios. To reach the Artifact without causing a diplomatic incident, Picard asks Raffi to get him official clearance; still raw from her son's rejection, she talks an old friend, Captain Emily Bosch, into granting it. Boarding the cube brings back painful memories of Picard's time as Locutus, but he is warmly reunited with Hugh. Narek guides Soji through a Romulan meditation technique, leading her to realise that her past goes back only a few years. He then traps her in a chamber filling with lethal radiation, but her hidden defences awaken and she smashes her way out. Soji finds Picard, and Hugh leads them to a Borg spatial trajector, which sends them to the planet Nepenthe. Elnor beams aboard against orders and stays to protect Hugh.
