The Best Exotic Nanite Hotel

The Cerritos docks at the Cosmic Duchess, a vast resort ship, to round up a swarm of nanites loose aboard.Mariner is partnered with her ex-girlfriend Jennifer Sh'reyan, who is about to transfer to the USS Manitoba, and their chase through the resort forces them to face how their relationship ended: Mariner simply went silent. Meanwhile Ransom recruits Boimler, with Billups, to go undercover and retrieve Admiral Milius, who has vanished into the resort and gathered a following of devoted holidaymakers. In a riff on “Apocalypse Now”, they ride the resort's river to his temple, where Milius tries to win Boimler over before his own followers turn on him. T'Lyn discovers an unexpected love for the music of Krog. Mariner and Jennifer part on good terms after capturing the swarm, which turns out to be linked to a microscopic USS Endeavor from a parallel universe, stranded after passing through a fissure. Milius agrees to help its crew get home.
