Parth Ferengi's Heart Place

The Ferengi Alliance has applied for Federation membership, and the Cerritos travels to Ferenginar to support the talks with Grand Nagus Rom and First Clerk Leeta. Admiral Vassery proves no match for them: Rom uses his reputation for seeming harmless to keep reopening the deal. Freeman realises the Ferengi are running a con, and wins their respect by out-bargaining them at their own game with some cunning use of the fine print, allowing the application to go forward. The lower deckers, meanwhile, are sent out to update Starfleet's travel guide to the planet. Tendi and Rutherford pose as a married couple and are drawn into ever more awkward romantic situations, insisting all the while that they are just friends. Mariner reunites with her Ferengi friend Quimp, who calls out her self-destructive behaviour. Boimler discovers Ferengi television and cannot stop watching.
