Enterprise holds a memorial for the crew lost at Azati Prime, and Archer orders Tucker to write to the parents of engineer Jane Taylor. Tucker cannot do it: every attempt brings back the death of his sister Elizabeth in the Xindi attack on Earth. Archer meets Degra and Jannar and lays out his evidence: Reptilian bodies from their plot in 21st-century Detroit, the remains of the bioweapon, and scans of the Sphere-Builder saboteur. Degra, shaken, agrees to try to delay the weapon. When a plasma fire breaks out on the hull, Tucker and Reed go outside to fight it, and Reed nearly dies. Tucker then turns his anger on Degra. When a Reptilian ship appears, Degra helps Enterprise destroy it to keep their meeting secret, and he offers to bring Archer before the Xindi Council. With T'Pol's help, Tucker finally writes the letter.
