Enterprise reaches Azati Prime but cannot get past its detection grid, so Tucker and Mayweather scout the system in a captured Insectoid shuttle and find the weapon being built underwater. To avoid discovery, the crew destroys a small outpost on a nearby moon. Reed works out how the weapon could be destroyed, but only by a one-way mission, and Archer insists on flying it himself. Before he can go, Daniels pulls him into the far future, aboard a later Enterprise, and reveals that the Sphere-Builders are manipulating the Xindi. He gives Archer a Xindi keepsake from that future as proof. Archer launches his attack anyway, but is captured and questioned by the Reptilian Commander Dolim. What he says begins to sway Degra, Jannar and the Primate councillor. Meanwhile, with T'Pol in command, Enterprise is caught by Xindi warships and left badly damaged.
