Harbinger

Investigating a region where five spheres converge, Enterprise recovers an alien held in a pod. Phlox struggles to keep him alive while Archer presses for answers, against medical advice. Elsewhere, tension between Reed and Major Hayes comes to a head when Hayes suggests joint training sessions, which Reed sees as undermining his authority, and the two end up in a fistfight. Trip, meanwhile, has been spending time with MACO Corporal Amanda Cole, and T'Pol shows signs of jealousy she will not admit. During one of their neuropressure sessions, she and Trip end up sleeping together, though she later thanks him coolly for helping her explore human sexuality. The alien revives, phases through solid matter, attacks Phlox and heads for the warp core, trying to destabilise its magnetic seals. Reed and Hayes, now working together, stop him. Before fading away, he warns that when the Xindi destroy Earth, his people will prevail.
