Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Enterprise answers a distress call from a Retellian cargo ship, and Tucker is sent across to repair a failing stasis pod. Inside is a woman, and when the pod fails he has to revive her. The ship's captain, Goff, knocks Tucker out and flees with him and the woman aboard, leaving his brother Plinn behind on Enterprise. With a translator from Hoshi, Tucker learns his fellow captive is Kaitaama, soon to be First Monarch of her world, who has been kidnapped for ransom. Haughty and used to being obeyed, she nonetheless joins Tucker's escape in a pod, and they crash on a swampy planet. As they bicker their way across the marshes, hostility turns to attraction. Meanwhile Archer and T'Pol interrogate Plinn and learn how to track Goff's ship. Goff finds the fugitives, but Kaitaama overpowers him just as the rescue team arrives. A ship from Krios Prime collects her, and she hints she may invite Tucker to visit.
- 01Teleplay writer David A. Goodman had earlier written Futurama's Star Trek tribute episode “Where No Fan Has Gone Before”.
- 02Brannon Braga rewrote the script, he said, treating it like a screwball comedy. Goodman later joked he was proud to have written one of the franchise's most hated episodes.
- 03John Billingsley named it his least favourite episode of the series, saying it just didn't come together.
