Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Surrounded by Suliban ships, T'Pol lets Silik's soldiers board the Enterprise to prove Archer has vanished. Silik refuses to believe her and interrogates her, while the crew is confined. In the 31st century, Archer and Daniels find the future in ruins: removing Archer from his own time has damaged history itself. In a library of physical books, Archer learns of things yet to come, and the pair use his communicator to make contact with T'Pol across the centuries. Tucker leads an escape through the ship's crawlspaces, with Hoshi fetching supplies from Phlox's quarters. Reed retrieves Daniels's temporal device but is caught, and convinces Silik it must be destroyed. When Silik uses it to contact his master, Archer comes through instead, overpowers him and takes him hostage, and the Suliban withdraw. Before Starfleet and Ambassador Soval, T'Pol's support helps persuade Starfleet to let the mission continue.
- 01Though it opened season two, it was the second episode produced. “Carbon Creek”, which needed only three main cast members, was filmed first.
- 02In the future library Archer reads about the Romulan Star Empire and the Federation, two powers humanity has yet to meet.
- 03Rick Berman said the writers spent extra weeks planning the first three episodes of season two, rather than resolving the cliffhanger after the summer break as usual.
