Archer and Mayweather come round in a Tandaran detention facility, held as suspected agents of the Suliban Cabal. Colonel Grat, the camp's commander, tells them they must wait for a hearing and questions Archer about his dealings with the Suliban. Inside the camp Archer meets Danik and his daughter Narra, ordinary Suliban civilians locked up for years simply because of their species, while the Cabal fights a war they have no part in. Grat insists the camp keeps everyone safe; Archer sees only injustice. With the help of a communicator smuggled into his cell, Archer plans a breakout. On the Enterprise, T'Pol avoids open confrontation while Hoshi and Reed locate the camp. Reed slips inside disguised as a Suliban, Tucker attacks from a shuttlepod and Mayweather creates a diversion. The prisoners escape, and Archer tells Grat that he has come to understand the Suliban better than their jailers ever have.
