Discovery's crew begin moving to the Enterprise so their ship can be destroyed, but the sphere data protects itself, disabling the self-destruct and raising the shields. The only option left is to carry the data into the distant future, beyond Control's reach, using a new Red Angel suit based on Gabrielle's design and powered by the time crystal. Burnham must wear it and lead Discovery through a wormhole. She plans to go alone, but one by one her crewmates refuse to let her go without them. A red signal leads to Xahea, whose young queen, Po, helps to recharge the crystal. Sarek and Amanda arrive to say goodbye to their daughter, and Pike prepares to return to the Enterprise as the two crews work side by side. As the episode ends, Control's armada closes in and the battle for the sphere data begins.
