Discovery jumps to Qo'noS and hides in a cavern beneath the surface. Burnham, Tyler, Tilly and Georgiou, posing as traders, visit an Orion outpost in search of a way into the planet's interior. Tilly discovers that the mapping drone they are carrying is really a hydro bomb: Starfleet has agreed to Georgiou's plan to destroy the Klingon homeworld. Burnham and the crew refuse to take part in genocide, and Cornwell is persuaded to stop. Burnham convinces Georgiou to hand the detonator to L'Rell instead. Holding the power to destroy their world, L'Rell unites the Klingon houses and ends the war. Tyler leaves with her, and Georgiou is set free. On Earth, Burnham receives a full pardon and her rank back, and speaks for Starfleet's ideals. Soon afterwards, Discovery picks up a distress call from Christopher Pike's USS Enterprise.
