One by one, former Maquis members of Voyager's crew are found unconscious, all with identical injuries, starting with Ensign Tabor. Tuvok leads the investigation, but the attacks continue, and when he assaults Chakotay he has no memory of doing it. In meditation he recalls attacking the victims and glimpses a Bajoran figure: Teero Anaydis, a former Maquis who experimented with mind control. A message from Teero has triggered conditioning hidden in Tuvok's mind, and his victims have been conditioned too. When Teero's signal activates them, the former Maquis seize control of Voyager and plan to put the Starfleet crew off the ship. Janeway helps Tuvok fight his way back to clarity, and he uses mind melds to free the affected crew members and retake the ship. With order restored, the crew gathers in the holodeck to watch a vintage film.
