Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
With supplies running low and even coffee rationed, Janeway takes Voyager into a nebula full of omicron particles that could top up the ship's energy reserves. After breaking through a barrier inside, the ship is damaged, and the crew discover that the nebula is a living organism which they have injured. Janeway decides they must put things right. Following what appears to be its circulatory system, Voyager returns to the wound, starts the healing process and escapes as the injury closes. Alongside the main story, the episode explores life aboard a ship far from home. Neelix declares himself morale officer, Chakotay helps Janeway find her animal guide, and Paris introduces the crew to Chez Sandrine, his holographic recreation of a French bar. By the end, the senior staff are relaxing together over a game of pool, beginning to feel like one crew.

- 02In 2015 astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti tweeted Janeway's famous coffee line from the International Space Station, wearing a Star Trek uniform.
- 03Judy Geeson's Sandrine returns in “Twisted”, and Larry Hankin's pool hustler Gaunt Gary returns in “Jetrel”.
