Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSISHIDE SYNOPSIS

DaiMon Bok, the Ferengi whose son died in battle with Picard's old ship the Stargazer, sends a message threatening to kill Picard's son. Picard has no son, he thinks, until a search turns up Jason Vigo, the child of a former lover, Miranda Vigo. Tests appear to confirm Picard is the father. Jason, a drifter with a record for petty crime, is wary of the stranger who suddenly wants to know him, and Picard struggles to connect. Bok kidnaps Jason with an advanced subspace transporter. Dr Crusher, treating Jason for an inherited condition, realises the disease does not come from either supposed parent: Bok had altered Jason's DNA to make him appear to be Picard's son, so the revenge would hurt more. Confronted aboard Bok's ship, his crew find no profit in the scheme and turn on him. Jason is not Picard's son after all, but the two part on warmer terms.
