Picard, Troi, Data and Geordi are returning to the Enterprise by runabout when they hit pockets where time runs fast, slow or not at all. They find the Enterprise frozen beside a Romulan warbird, which appears to be firing on it, while energy flows between the two ships. Using modified emergency armbands to protect themselves, the away team boards the motionless Enterprise and discovers a warp core breach already under way. The real cause is aboard the warbird: alien creatures from another dimension have been using its artificial quantum singularity to incubate their young, and are disguising themselves to recover them. With Data's help, the crew run time backwards to stop the breach, fight off one of the aliens and evacuate the Romulans. The runabout then breaks the power link, freeing the Enterprise just before the warbird's engines go critical, and all the time distortions vanish.

  3. 03Director Adam Nimoy made only two Star Trek episodes: this one and “Rascals”.
