Ephraim and Dot

Told in the manner of a wildlife documentary, this cartoon follows Ephraim, a tardigrade searching for a safe, warm place to lay her eggs. When the Enterprise destroys the asteroid she has chosen, she slips aboard and settles near the ship's warp reactor. There she meets her nemesis: Dot, a DOT-7 repair drone determined to remove the intruder. Their slapstick battles play out against famous moments from the Enterprise's history, from the original series through to the films, including run-ins with Khan and the Tholians. The years pass and the rivalry continues. Finally, when Kirk sets the Enterprise to self-destruct above the Genesis planet, Dot rescues Ephraim's eggs. The eggs hatch, and Ephraim, Dot and the baby tardigrades head off into space together as a family.
