The Griffin Incident

Kirk, Spock and La'An are returning by shuttle from a leadership conference when they find the USS Griffin, lost nine years earlier. There are no life signs, so they beam aboard. Soon each is haunted by personal fears: Kirk hears his infant son David crying, Spock sees disturbing visions of T'Pring, and a mysterious woman stalks the corridors. The logs reveal that the ship's security chief, Rose Harper, killed most of the crew by beaming them into empty space. What appears to be an Enterprise rescue party arrives, but its members behave strangely, and La'An, under Harper's influence, stabs Kirk. The real Enterprise then arrives and recovers them: it never boarded the Griffin at all. The derelict is handed to Starfleet's Division 12 and towed away, Pike leaves La'An's attack out of his report, and La'An glimpses Harper at a window, signalling her to stay silent.
