Preludes

Repairing the proto-drive in the Neutral Zone, the crew finally share their pasts. Rok-Tahk was made to fight as "The Monster" in staged bouts until she refused to lose and was sold to the Kazon. Zero was exploring with their fellow Medusans when slavers captured them. Jankom, an orphan aboard a sleeper ship, was woken early for repairs and gave up his place so the others could survive. Aboard the Dauntless, Asencia, the Vindicator, restores the Diviner's memories of their ruined homeworld, Solum. The full history emerges: under Captain Chakotay the Protostar passed through a temporal anomaly to Solum, where the Vau N'Akat imprisoned the crew and installed the Living Construct to destroy Starfleet. Chakotay and his crew escaped and sent the ship back in time without the Vau N'Akat aboard, and the Diviner was one of those sent back to recover it. When Admiral Janeway stumbles on the two Vau N'Akat together, the Diviner knocks her out.
