All the World's a Stage

Answering a distress call, the crew land on a world shrouded in subspace interference and meet the Enderprizians, aliens in threadbare Starfleet uniforms whose whole culture grew from the logs and teachings of Ensign Garrovick, a Starfleet officer stranded there a century earlier. Their customs and plays retell the adventures of Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise, cheerfully garbled by generations of retelling. A sickness the locals blame on a curse is spreading, and Dal falls ill. The landing party trace the source to a crashed Enterprise shuttlecraft whose leaking plasma is poisoning the area. Jankom retrieves data from the wreck that lets Zero make a cure, but the team are trapped as the shuttle teeters over a toxic pool. With the Enderprizians' help the Protostar arrives just in time, and the shuttle is lost. Seeing how well these people understand Starfleet's ideals, Dal resolves to contact Starfleet after all. Back aboard, Murf is found sealed inside a cocoon.
