Absolute Candor

Years earlier, while overseeing the resettlement of Romulan refugees on the planet Vashti, Picard befriended a boy named Elnor and promised to come back for him, a promise he broke after leaving Starfleet. Now he persuades Rios to divert there. Elnor has grown up with the Qowat Milat, an order of Romulan warrior nuns who live by absolute candour, and at first he refuses to leave. Picard's arrival stirs up bitter Romulan resentment of Starfleet, and when he is attacked in a local bar, Elnor steps into a bloody fight to save him. Elnor then pledges himself to Picard, binding himself to a lost cause as his order's tradition allows. As La Sirena leaves, it comes under attack, and a lone pilot sacrifices her own ship to save them: Seven of Nine, who beams aboard. On the Artifact, Narek offers to help Soji research the Romulans' assimilated victims, while Narissa gives him a deadline to learn where Soji came from.
