Room for Growth

After a run of punishing repairs, Captain Freeman takes her exhausted engineers to the Dove, a spa ship run by the Edosian Toz, and orders them to relax. They cannot switch off, treating every therapy as an engineering problem, and Freeman's own stress climbs dangerously as she struggles to make them unwind. Below decks, Boimler, Tendi and Mariner learn that Delta Shift plans to rig the lottery for coveted private quarters, and race their rivals through the ship's Jefferies tubes and hazards to reach the lottery terminal first. They get there first, only to find a single room left, and rather than split up they choose not to cheat. Delta Shift then turns the room into a four-bunk party space they all share, leaving the trio to realise they missed the obvious answer. Meanwhile the engineers build a relaxation pod that cures Freeman's stress in seconds, but Toz quietly disposes of it, since it threatens her business.
