Mariner, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford find themselves on K'Tuevon Prime, apparently on trial before Clar, with the senior officers held captive. Bound by the Horn of Candor to tell the truth, each ensign is asked to describe events they only saw from the sidelines. Mariner recalls a confusing standoff with a Clicket ship, Rutherford describes helping to steal an old Romulan Bird of Prey from a museum, and Tendi recounts a strange trip into Romulan space. Their muddled stories make the crew look terrible, and Clar presses them for answers. Boimler speaks up for Starfleet, arguing that its officers make mistakes all the time but always try to do the right thing. Clar then explains the misunderstanding: the senior staff rescued him from the Romulans, and this is a celebration in their honour. The party ends abruptly when the room's 22-minute booking runs out.
