Enterprise is locked at warp with its engine close to breaching. The Columbia matches speed, and Tucker crosses between the two ships on a dangerous spacewalk to restart the engine and purge the Klingon sabotage. On Qu'Vat, Phlox finds a weakness in the Augment virus and, rather than perfecting Klingon Augments as K'Vagh hopes, develops a cure, testing treatments on volunteers. Through Section 31, Archer learns where Phlox is held. As Admiral Krell's fleet arrives and threatens to attack, a battle breaks out involving Enterprise, Columbia and Klingon ships. Phlox uses Archer as a source of antibodies to complete the cure, then beams a sample of the virus to Krell's ship, forcing a ceasefire. The Klingon High Council agrees to spread the cure, but those treated lose their cranial ridges, as will their descendants. Reed breaks with Section 31, and Tucker stays aboard to help with repairs.
