Using Tarquin's coordinates, Enterprise reaches a Xindi world where a complex is processing kemocite. Archer, Reed and Major Hayes land by shuttlepod and watch its owner, Gralik Durr, agree to supply kemocite to Degra. The team takes a canister for analysis, and T'Pol confirms that kemocite was used in the probe that attacked Earth. Aboard Enterprise, Tucker studies a captured Reptilian rifle that runs on the material, but accidentally triggers its self-destruct. Archer confronts Gralik at his home and finds that he does not know what his work is for. Rather than destroy the complex and look like the aggressor, Archer holds back. When a Reptilian shuttle arrives early carrying Degra, the away team hides in a cave but is found by drones. Degra tells Gralik that the kemocite is for a weapon against a ruthless alien species. T'Pol modifies a canister so that it can be tracked, and Archer slips it aboard the departing shuttle.
