The Klingons have put a price on Archer's head following his escape from Rura Penthe. A friendly Tellarite named Skalaar offers the crew help, then reveals himself as a bounty hunter and abducts Archer. Skalaar wants the reward to buy back his old ship, the Tezra. Meanwhile, during decontamination, T'Pol picks up a microbe that triggers a premature pon farr. Her behaviour grows erratic, she makes advances on Phlox, knocks him out and escapes, before security subdues her. She recovers, mortified. Aboard Skalaar's ship, a rival bounty hunter attacks, and Archer persuades Skalaar to free him so they can survive. As he learns Skalaar's story, Archer earns his sympathy, but Skalaar still hands him to the Klingons. When they pay him only part of the reward, Skalaar tells Enterprise where to find the Klingon ship. Enterprise rescues Archer and damages the Klingon vessel, and Skalaar warns Archer that his bounty will probably double.
