At last the Enterprise reaches Risa. Archer, Tucker, Reed, Mayweather and Hoshi beam down for shore leave, while Phlox goes into his annual hibernation and T'Pol keeps watch on the ship. Archer meets Keyla, a charming woman who says the Suliban destroyed her family, but her questions turn out to be an interrogation: she is a Tandaran agent, and she drugs him before slipping away. Hoshi leaves her translator behind, meets Ravis and spends a happy night with him, learning his language. Tucker and Reed chase two women to an underground garden, only for them to turn into male aliens who rob them and leave them in their underwear. Mayweather breaks his leg climbing, and when he reacts badly to treatment, Crewman Cutler and T'Pol must wake a groggy Phlox to save him. The crew reunites at the shuttlepod, each keeping quiet about what really happened.
