Indiscretion

A smuggler named Razka brings Kira evidence about the Ravinok, a Cardassian ship that vanished six years earlier carrying Bajoran prisoners, among them a friend of Kira's. The Cardassian government insists on sending its own representative: Gul Dukat. On a desert planet the pair find the wreck and a row of graves, and Dukat is shaken to learn that one of the dead was his Bajoran mistress. He admits they had a daughter, Tora Ziyal, and says he intends to kill her to protect his career. Kira vows to stop him. They track the survivors to a mine run by the Breen and, disguised as Breen guards, free the prisoners, though Kira learns that her friend died two years before. Ziyal greets Dukat with joy, and he cannot bring himself to fire, choosing to take her home. On the station, Sisko panics when Kasidy Yates is offered a job on Bajor.
