A routine repair job wakes an old Cardassian security programme, and the station itself turns against everyone aboard.
Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
While converting an old Cardassian ore processor, O'Brien and Jake, joined by Sisko, accidentally trigger a hidden programme designed to crush a Bajoran workers' revolt. A recording of Dukat announces the station is being locked down. Kira, Dax and Bashir are sealed in Ops, Odo is trapped with Quark, and every attempt to override the system sets off a nastier countermeasure: a threat of poison gas, then a self-destruct countdown, then randomly firing disruptors. Dukat arrives in person to gloat, only to be trapped as well when his own superiors revoke his access codes. After escaping through an ore chute, Sisko's group fight their way through the station as the clock runs down, and at the last moment Sisko reinforces the shields so they absorb the blast and save the station.
