Dax

After a late meal with Dr Bashir, Jadzia Dax is ambushed by men trying to drag her off the station. Their leader, Ilon Tandro, accuses her of treason and murder. During a civil war on Klaestron IV, his father was betrayed by a coded message and killed, and the evidence points to Curzon Dax, the symbiont's previous host, who had no alibi. Kira insists on a hearing under Bajoran law, held in Quark's bar. Sisko argues that Jadzia and Curzon are different people, while the arbiter weighs whether the symbiont could simply be removed, which Bashir warns would kill both. Odo digs into the past and uncovers an affair between Curzon and Ilon's mother, Enina. She testifies that Curzon was with her on the night in question, and the case collapses. Privately she reveals the truth Curzon had kept hidden: it was her husband who sent the message, betraying his own side, and the rebels killed him for it.
