Grounded

Accused of destroying the Pakled homeworld, Captain Freeman faces trial, while the Cerritos is impounded and its crew scattered. Ignoring her father's advice to trust the process, Mariner persuades Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford to help her recover Boimler's meticulous logs from the ship as proof of her mother's innocence. Their route takes them to Historic Bozeman, a theme park celebrating humanity's first warp flight, where they commandeer a replica of the Phoenix, complete with a holographic Zefram Cochrane. Aboard the Cerritos the logs turn out to be no help, so Mariner tries to fly the ship to Earth on her own until her friends stop her and Starfleet security arrives. Then Freeman appears, already cleared: a covert Starfleet investigation has shown that the Pakleds faked the evidence against her. The ensigns' heist achieved nothing, and Freeman places Mariner under Commander Ransom's direct supervision.
