While ferrying Tellarite diplomats to peace talks, Enterprise rescues the survivors of Shran's ship, and old hatreds between Andorians and Tellarites threaten to explode before the summit.
Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Archer and Hoshi practise the Tellarite art of argument before carrying Ambassador Gral to a peace conference on Babel. En route, Enterprise answers a distress call from Shran's warship, the Kumari, and rescues survivors before the ship is destroyed. The evidence suggests a Tellarite vessel was responsible, and Shran and Gral are soon at each other's throats. When a ship that appears to be Andorian then attacks Enterprise, scans show that both attackers share the same energy signature. A single vessel is using holographic projectors to disguise itself as other ships. Tucker and Reed board the mysterious craft and find it is a drone, controlled from Romulus by Admiral Valdore and the scientist Nijil, who want to stop the region's powers from working together. The episode ends with Tucker and Reed stranded aboard the drone, their air running low, as the Romulans prepare to destroy the evidence.
- 01Shran's Andorian make-up took three and a half hours each day, as did the Tellarite prosthetics. Female Andorians needed four and a half hours.
